Arriving after 5PM to the University of Louisiana in Lafyette, I found the Edith Garland Depre Library open, but the Jefferson Caffery Louisiana Room (Special Collections) on the 4th floor closed. I would revisit the university again to get my hands on a book I wanted, now behind locked doors.
The general stacks in the library had a considerable amount of Southern Louisiana related genealogy volumes around call number F377 (3rd floor). They have Father Hebert's SWLA books; some missing and some repeated.
Library call numbers: 1st floor, H, J, K, and Z. 2nd floor, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V. 3rd floor, A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
My second visit to this university library was earlier in the day. This time special collections on the 4th floor of the library was open. I noted they had a complete set of Father Hebert's SWLA indexes to volume 46, each of the Baton Rouge Diocese's indexes, and all of the New Orleans Archdiocese volumes. There is a copy machine in the room, but I had no problem taking pictures of the pages I wanted. This is not a 'white glove' room; just an extension of the library.
Parking in parking structure; fee. Eats Unknown. Wifi in Library.
